I Am Because We Are

Like branches of an ancient tree,
Our roots entwined beneath the sea.
Of countless stories, lived and shared,
Each triumph earned; each burden bared.

In your smile, I see my light,
Your strength lifts me through the darkest night.
My voice grows stronger in our song,
In harmony where we belong.

A single drop becomes the rain,
One ember sparks a large fire.
Your joy becomes the reason why,
We rise together, you and I.

For I am woven from the thread,
Of all the words you’ve ever said.
The hands that held me when I fell,
The tales that others lived to tell.

In giving, I become complete,
Sharing makes my heart retreat.
Through you, I learn just who I am,
A note within life’s greater jam.

So let me be your strength today,
As you’ve been mine along the way.
For in this truth, we find our grace,
I am because we share this space.
