The weight of a secret is like an invisible stone a person carries in their pocket. Initially, they feel light, like small stones one can easily hide. But with each passing day, each unspoken truth, these stones grow. They become rocks and before you know it, you’re dragging this heavy load everywhere you go and every step becomes harder.
I have seen people do this; they think keeping everything inside makes them strong. The truth is that strength is not about carrying everything alone. Strength is knowing when to open your hand and let something fall out. To trust someone enough to hear your truth.
Your secrets don’t define you. They are stories waiting to be told, wounds waiting to heal. The ones you choose to open up to could be a friend or a spiritual director.

They are not there to judge. They are there to listen and, in the listening, lies the miracle: the weight starts to lift.
One truth, just one honest conversation can make those stones dissolve. They might feel sharp when they first come out, but sharing is not about being perfect. It’s about being human. About admitting that we all carry something heavy sometimes, and it’s cool.
Just put down the load. Start small if you need to, but start somewhere. Remember, secrets kept too long don’t just weigh you down but can break you.
