Whispers of a Broken Bond

Bonds shatter with the joy I bring,
Dreams once radiant now cut, a venomous sting.
I gave my all; yet, wounds took their claim,
Faint whispers turned to scars, my heart’s aflame.

Dependency crept like ivy, entwined in pain,
Stopping bleeds hearts, continuing rends them in vain.
Tears carve rivers on a friend’s frail pillow,
Echoing silence, a sorrowful willow.

To voice my weakness feels a treacherous climb—
Who holds the lantern in my night’s confined time?
The weight bears heavy, in shadows I stay,
Craving peace in endless night, a fleeting day.
