The Observer
It so happened that he resolved, at any cost, to succeed in life. He paid little heed to what his choices would ultimately cost him in his quest for riches. The worst was that he lacked the advice of mature minds that would have led him aright; instead, he had individuals who exploited his means and indulged themselves at his expense.
Years after graduation from university, he tried his hand at numerous things to earn a decent livelihood, but nothing materialized. He endeavored to ascend the ladder of success, but everything was in vain. Disheartened, he blamed governments of the day and even accused members of his own family of being conspirators. He made many applications, but rejections came in—not for want of academic aptitude, but because of hurdles he could not understand or overcome.
He sold second-hand clothes, slept on the streets, and worked for free. Just when he was on the verge of a breakthrough, tragedy struck him and all the wealth he had strived for went up in flames.
He sat beneath a tree one day, pondering the end of his life. He heard two middle-aged men talking about the fortunes they had made after working overseas. Believing them, he went up to them and told them he would like to make the same trip. His reason was honorable: to construct a modern health complex and recreational center for his people, eliminating poverty so that no one would have to endure what he had experienced.
After a series of questions and answers, he showed himself ready to accept the challenge. He was given instructions and, unfaltering, carried them out. He took a leap of faith—blind to the consequences—and came back months later a different man of means. To divert suspicion from the truth of his activities, he invested wisely and covered his actions with sophistication.
