The Observer
The years went by, and the effects started to take their toll. His health declined, and physicians could not determine the reason. When he was about to lose hope, he recalled his past mistake. The people who led him at the time were now long deceased.
He was frantic to undo the damage, and thus he sought out ritualists, but they were unsuccessful. He became depressed, his mind highly perturbed. His friends and family suspected something was wrong, but he could not confide in them. He feared their reactions and bore the heavy burden of secrecy—until he could do so no more.
At last, he collapsed and confessed to his wife. She urged him to see a parish priest of hers who was an exorcist and would be able to help him fight the strife in his life. He resisted, but eventually agreed.
The meeting with the priest marked the beginning of a painful, long struggle. Through the hand of God and days of intense prayer, he was freed from evil’s clutches—and his fortune was spared.
Years later, he re-emerged as a motivational speaker, teaching the youth about the dangers of pursuing wealth blindly. He told them that those who have faith in the Lord will find that faith rekindled. He urged others to be examples of strength and to exercise hope—for hope, after all, does not disappoint.
