DON’T BE COMFORTABLE IN YOUR WEAKNESS

My brethren, let me speak from the heart: that weakness, that struggle, that challenge, that sin you wrestle with—it is your cross. And a cross is not meant to be ignored; it is meant to be carried.

St. Paul knew this battle well. He prayed for relief, but the Lord answered: “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” Even Jesus Himself cried out in Gethsemane, “Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me.” Yet He surrendered: “Not my will, but Yours be done.” Strength was revealed in surrender.

You may say, “I never saw Jesus or Paul, so why should I believe?” But look at your own life—aren’t you struggling with something right now?

Do you think lotto addiction, hookup culture, fraud, galamsey, sex-for-grades, exam malpractice, favouritism, nepotism, scandals, drug abuse—all these habits you’ve settled into—are just normal? No. They are crosses. And crosses are meant to be overcome, not worshipped.

Cain was told by God: “If you do right, you will be accepted. But if you do not, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it.” Cain ignored the warning, gave in to his emotions, and killed his brother. Yet God still demanded accountability for Abel’s blood. Likewise, if you die in your weakness, God will hold you accountable.

So hear me: you have what it takes to rise above that weakness. God has already placed the ability in you. It is your choice—either rise, or let it ruin you.

Those of us who have settled into sitting at lotto kiosks, standing at red lights as prostitutes, selling alcohol to destroy young people, or chasing money through unworthy means—this is not your portion. You have simply settled for less. You have been misdirected. Your glory is hidden beneath that struggle. In that weakness lies your strength.

The same mind calculating lotto numbers is the mind meant for accounting in an office. The same energy used to chase shortcuts could be used to build legacies. Rise from your grave like Lazarus. Climb the sycamore tree like Zacchaeus, so you can see Jesus—and He will come into your house, dine with you, and transform your life forever.

Don’t be comfortable in your weakness. Rise from it now.
