Divine Rescue: From Vengeance to Forgiveness

September 23, 2024 · 4 responses

After being betrayed, I was so furious that I considered visiting a witch doctor to make the person who wronged me suffer. I was willing to spend a lot of money just to see them miserable. I was even contemplating taking their life.
But on the day I was supposed to meet with the witch doctor, I had a conversation with someone who made me think twice. They told me that they would feel hurt and upset if they were in my shoes, but seeking counseling would be a better option than seeking revenge.
After giving it some thought, I decided to take their advice. The counselor I spoke with was truly a blessing. They made me realize that I have no right to take someone’s life, as I cannot create life myself. They encouraged me to let God guide my actions and to see forgiveness as a gift I could give to ease the burden on my heart.
I learned the importance of sharing our struggles with others, as it can lead to help and prevent us from doing something we might regret.
