Betrayal in Disguise

We called them friends
But they never treated us as such.
We did everything together,
Yet they abandoned us in our time of need.
We shared all we had,
But they kept their secrets hidden.
They acted like friends,
While stabbing us in the back.
They laughed with us,
But mocked us when we weren’t there.
Now, solitude has become our closest companion,
For it freed us from the weight of expectation.
In solitude, we found the best choice—
It taught us the true essence of being alone.
