Echoes of Loss

O Death, why do you reach for my beloved,
Taking my baby, leaving me bereft?
You’ve shattered my heart, and my plans undone,
Leaving emptiness, where love once dwelled.

Your icy grasp snatched away our dreams,
Our bond, now broken, in sorrow’s streams.
How cruel you are, O Death, to steal,
The future we planned, the love we’d reveal.

Yet, in grief, I cling to memories past,
Treasuring love that forever will last.
Though you may take, you cannot steal,
The dreams we shared, the love we dared to feel.
