After a long day’s work, I decided to take a stroll through the streets of Accra to save money and get some exercise. It turned out to be a great decision, giving me a whole new perspective on life. Stepping out of my comfort zone was eye-opening.
I used to live a pretty boring life – just going from home to work and back again, hardly talking to anyone. Even on the trotro, I’d be buried in my phone, trying to avoid chatting with other passengers. But that all changed when I decided to shake things up.

As I walked through the streets after work, I saw hawkers selling their goods, calling out to passersby. It was a scene I’d never really paid attention to before. But this time, I took it all in. I watched as parents worked tirelessly in the hot sun, doing everything they could to support their families. Despite the challenges they faced, they kept pushing forward to make an honest living.
I decided to take a chance and talk to some of the hawkers, listening to their stories. I was surprised to learn that many of them were quite educated, but circumstances had led them to where they were. It made me realize the sacrifices people make just to provide for their families and loved ones.
