There was a time when a group of enthusiastic thinkers got together with one single aspiration: to assist in making the world a better place for all. They believed that their decisions could have a lasting impact, but they were cautious not to impose their opinions on others. In an attempt to make this dream a reality, they conducted a serious research study in an effort to obtain the opinions of people far and wide. They firmly believed that the developments of intellectual thought depended on the embracing of diverse opinions.
Their job, however, was not easy. The group labored through sleepless nights, diving into intense study amid derision from skeptics who labeled their work a waste of time. By the way, most of these skeptics happened to be technocrats and academicians themselves. Some observers believed that these critics were merely transferring their own frustrations for unrealized dreams onto the group.
Even within their own department, individuals began to doubt whether they could succeed. Despite the doubt, the team proceeded with a steely resolve. They traveled across the country, collecting data on how different communities would envision ideal living. The failures they encountered during this data collection phase were a trial of their patience but also worked to temper their resolve.
